Our Take
The Vertuo Pop+ is Nespresso's smallest Vertuo machine, for people who want coffee and espresso at the touch of a button. The listing says it brews five sizes: 5, 8 and 12 oz coffees plus single and double espressos, hot or over ice. It heats up in about 30 seconds, has a removable 25 fl oz side tank and a descaling alert, and Nespresso says it turns off after 2 minutes idle. The catch is the capsule system. It only takes Nespresso Vertuo capsules, which cost more per cup than ground coffee, and you can't use pods from other brands. A tasting pack comes in the box, and Nespresso runs a capsule recycling program. We haven't tested it ourselves. Choose it for convenience and consistency. Skip it if you drink several large mugs a day or want to choose your own beans.
