Our Take
The Forerunner 265 is Garmin's mid-range running watch, and its AMOLED screen was a first for the line when it launched in 2023. Garmin's manual rates the 46 mm version at up to 13 days in smartwatch mode and up to 20 hours with GPS, dropping to about 14 hours with multi-band GPS. The listing highlights a morning report, HRV status, training readiness, suggested workouts and 30+ activity profiles, plus incident detection. It works with buttons as well as the touchscreen, which helps when you're sweaty. The trade-offs: battery is far shorter than Garmin's solar Instinct, there are no maps, and the colorful screen uses more power. Garmin has newer Forerunners, so check the price against them. We haven't tested it ourselves. Choose it if you train for races and want guidance on when to push or rest.

Why PriceDropIQ Selected It
For runners training for a race, it gives clear daily guidance on when to push and when to recover, on a bright screen you can read mid-run. It has the core training features of Garmin's pricier models without the maps. If battery life matters more than the screen, look at the Instinct 3 Solar.
