Our Take

The 32 oz wide-mouth Nalgene is the bottle you see on almost every trail. Nalgene says the Sustain version is made from Tritan Renew, is BPA/BPS-free, dishwasher-safe and covered by a leakproof guarantee, weighs about 6.25 oz and is made in the USA. The wide mouth fits ice cubes, water filters and powder scoops, and the tethered lid can't get lost. The volume markings help with meal prep and hydration on the trail. It doesn't insulate, so drinks get warm in the sun, and the wide mouth can splash when you drink on the move; a splash guard helps. We haven't tested it ourselves. Colors are separate listings with shared ratings.
