Our Take

The Weekender is one of the easiest watches to recommend if you want an analog watch without spending much. Timex lists a 38 mm brass case, a mineral crystal on most versions, 30 m water resistance, a CR2016 battery and the INDIGLO backlight that lights the whole dial at the push of a button. The 20 mm slip-through strap is easy to swap, which is half the fun: Timex and others sell many colors. The 38 mm size suits most wrists and works for casual and smart outfits. The quartz movement ticks audibly, which some people notice at night, and 30 m means splashes only, not swimming. We haven't tested it ourselves. Our photo shows a leather-strap version; the linked listing opened on a green fabric strap with a cream dial, and other colors are on the same listing.
