Our Take
The Grip is JBL's one-hand speaker, shaped like a drinks can, with an integrated rope hook for a backpack, bike or kayak. JBL lists 16 W of output with AI Sound Boost, an IP68 rating for water, dust and drops, and says it keeps playing after a 1-meter drop onto concrete. Battery life is 12 hours, plus 2 more with Playtime Boost. Two Grips can pair for stereo, and Auracast links it with other Auracast JBL speakers; the ambient light on the back is adjustable in the JBL Portable app. Trade-offs: a 16 W speaker this size is for personal listening, a desk or a small group, not a party. JBL launched it in September 2025, and on the listing we checked the black version was sold by Amazon.com. We haven't tested it ourselves.

Why PriceDropIQ Selected It
If you want a speaker you can grab, hook to a bag and not worry about at the pool or on a trail, the Grip is built for that: IP68, drop-proof and small enough for one hand. It suits personal listening and small groups. If you need more volume for a gathering, the Flip 7 is the step up; if you want the smallest clip-on option, the Clip 5 is lighter.
