Our Take

UNO Flip keeps the rules most families already know and adds one twist that changes the mood of the game. The 112-card deck is double-sided. Play starts on the light side, which works like classic UNO. When someone plays a Flip card, the whole deck and every hand turn over to the dark side, where Draw Five and Skip Everyone make penalties much harsher. Mattel's rules play to 500 points, and the cards carry symbols that help colorblind players. It takes two minutes to teach anyone who knows UNO. It's still a luck-heavy card game, so groups who want strategy will prefer a board game. We haven't tested it ourselves. This listing comes in a storage tin.
